EXTENDED TEST EXPLANATION
Only to be completed if ordered by a court.
As a disqualified driver, the court would have ordered that you return to being a learner driver and take an extended practical driving test. The test is longer and more demanding.
Courts can order that you take an extended driving test if you have been convicted of dangerous driving offences or other offences involving necessary disqualification.
At the end of your disqualification, you will need to
- apply for a provisional driving licence
- pass a theory test for the category of vehicle in which you intend to take an extended practical driving test
- pass the extended practical driving test
The extended practical test lasts for about 70 minutes and covers all variety of roads. It is advised that you prepare for your test by taking suitable instruction from an approved driving instructor (ADI).
The fees for an extended test are higher than a standard practical test.
